David Liske, CPE, ACTAR

David Liske is the founding Principal Associate of LISKE Forensic Professionals which is an accredited Accident Investigation and Reconstruction corporation in both the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Liske has conducted over 2000 technical accident investigations and reconstructions, and is qualified to testify in court as an expert witness in both Canada and the U.S. He has full accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist [ACTAR 738], he is a Certified Professional Ergonomist [N. 017], and is a specialist in using PC Crash computer simulation for the purposes of accident reconstruction.

Peter S. Pawlik, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Peter Pawlik is Professor of Engineering Technology at Buffalo State University College in Buffalo, NY, and his areas of specialization include mechanics, dynamics, engineering analysis, stress analysis, shock and vibration, machine design, and computer-aided engineering.  His expertise in forensic engineering and accident reconstruction has focused on industrial accidents and product liability.

Peter Scalia, ACTAR

Pete Scalia has an extensive proven history in conducting forensic vehicle examinations, including vehicle autopsies, and taking the findings of those forensic vehicle examinations to trial for favorable results in documenting either the evidence related to a failure or condition, which was a causative factor to the collision, or just as important in certain instances, to the contrary, that no evidence existed. He has full accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist [ ACTAR 1775 ]. He is also A.S.E. certified master technician, a licensed NYS DMV motor vehicle safety inspector, a retired Investigator from the NY State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, a NY State Police reconstructionist for 17 years in the Division’s Collision Reconstruction Program and was one of two state police personnel authorized by the Division of NY State Police as a forensic vehicle examiner. He has participated in the DOT truck safety inspection program. He has conducted hundreds of forensic vehicle examinations on cars, SUVs and heavy trucks, including vehicle autopsies.

Nick Korakas

Nick Korakas has built a solid reputation as a leading educator in the transportation and industrial sectors. He is routinely called upon by industry stakeholders to provide training, investigations and suggestions on improving workplace safety. Mr. Korakas is the founding CEO of Modern Training Ontario Inc., which is a Canadian based transportation education training college. He has a proven 15 year educational background serving the commercial truck, bus, automotive, industrial and emergency services. As a licensed MTO instructor, he provides certified programs to professional and entry-level commercial vehicle operators. Mr. Korakas designs and administers safety programs for both the private and government sectors. His key areas of expertise are Vehicle Inspection regulations, MTO/DOT Hours of service regulations, North American Load Securement Regulations, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Commercial Vehicle Air Brake Inspection and Operation and The Safe Operation of a Lift Truck. As an active firefighter, Mr. Korakas also provides defensive driver training programs for the emergency services across Ontario. He holds certifications from Sheridan College, The Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Ontario Safety League, The Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario, Ontario Trucking Association, Ministry of Natural Resources Canada, The Drivers Trainers Institute, The Occupational Safety Group, The Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario and Michigan Truck Safety Commission.

Louis Fortier, P.Eng

Louis Fortier started working with LISKE Forensic Professionals in 1994. His initial EIT experience was conducted under the supervision of the Principal Associate. Mr. Fortier has gained valuable experience in the undertaking of a technical investigation in accident reconstruction, field investigations including measurements, photography and video, analyzing vehicle and property damage, accident reconstructions using the latest in 3-D computer simulation programs, preparing accident reconstruction diagrams and exhibits, technical research and testing, and writing comprehensive technical accident reconstruction reports.
